Handling Rounds in MMA Surebets

In Martial Arts (particularly in Boxing), we present surebets that cover 5-minute rounds. Bookmakers may calculate rounds differently depending on their rules. There are three main methods of round calculation:

  1. Incomplete/Started Rounds
If a round begins, it is counted, even if the fight ends prematurely.

  2. By-Time rounds
A round is counted if more than half of it (2.5 minutes) has passed. For example, if a round ends early due to a stoppage, it may still be counted as complete if more than half of the round elapsed.

  3. Full/Complete Rounds
Only fully completed rounds count toward the total. If a fight ends early, the round in which the fight concluded is not considered.

Important: outcome of the bet is decided by a halfpoint across all three round types.

Possible risks for players:

Our service may sometimes misinterpret certain 'incomplete' or 'by_time' markets as 'complete.' We therefore suggest that you carefully study the bookmaker's rules regarding the total of rounds before placing a bet. If the rules are unclear, please contact their support team for clarification. If a bet is settled differently from what was stated in the arbitrage opportunity, contact us immediately. Provide screenshots of the betting slips, bookmaker rules, and support correspondence for further investigation.

Last but not least:

Theoretically, we could have been generating surebets that combined started rounds and full rounds (see the screenshot below). Since the Under 1.5 Full rounds market only considers the total number of fully completed rounds, the bet loses if the fight reaches the third round. If it happens, the 'Over 2.5 Started rounds' is supposed to win.

The problem with such surebets is as follows. 1% to 5% of the matches end by RTD (Referee Technical Decision) – which means the fight is stopped during the break between rounds by the decision of the boxer’s corner or the refusal of the athlete to continue the match. During the breaks, all the three methods of round calculation give the same result. Therefore, both bets of the surebet above will be lost. For this reason we are not offering surebets of this kind.
